You Have a House. The Father’s House.

We are all praying for that perfect house. Want to know how I know? Because we are in the same boat. Everything is an absolute hot mess with this market especially for those that just want to find their first home or a forever home and not turn it into a flip house and just sell it a couple months later and a bigger value. I am totally down for an investment and people doing what they must do to make a living but can the rest of us just find a house to live in?

I have had moments of such discouragement in this home buying process. I also am the pickiest person in the whole entire world, that’s an exaggeration, maybe just in my house. But I feel like we have looked at a crazy amount of houses and none of them have been it or everything gets snatched up in seconds. It isn’t easy. I may or may not be boujee person but when it comes to a house, I don’t mind putting in a little elbow grease to make a house our home with our own little touches to it.

But I have heard this one song over and over, it’s called The Father’s House by Cory Asbury. I feel like I tend to get a lot of insight from songs, mainly because I have always loved music. I could sing this whole song for y’all, but I won’t because you for sure would not want to hear that. I used to be in choir, but I was never that good. Anyway…

As I was listening to this song, I heard this: I know you are discouraged right now but be reminded that you DO HAVE a house. A house with me in heaven. The fathers house.

I am probably butchering it a little bit, but I heard it clear as day. How amazing is God? If you’ve given your life to Christ and you are living for Him, you have a place. You have a home, and it is going to better than anything we could ever find on this earth.

I know the stress is real, you just really want to find a house, me too. I want a place where we can just be our own little family, I understand but this I need you to know. You have an amazing place waiting for you in heaven. God is going to bring everyone that house they were meant to have. It may not be the best house, it may not be the most boujee house on the block, it may not be 10,000 square feet (you are crazy if you need that big of a house), but it will be yours. You have something much more amazing to look forward to when Jesus comes and gets us from this crazy planet.

If you haven’t given your life to Christ this could be your moment, right here and now you can make sure that you have your own house with God. Make sure you have a place of your own when it is time to leave.

Say this prayer:

Dear God,

I am a sinner & ask for your forgiveness.

I believe you died for my sins and rose again.

I am giving my life to you.

I am sorry for all the wrong I have done in this life.

I am sorry for never believing in your full power.

My identity is found in You & I realize that now.

My life is yours. I put you first.

I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life.

I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.

In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

If you just said welcome to the party! A walk with God is the most amazing thing you can do for yourself and your family. Your house is being prepared for you in this world and in heaven. Be ok with your situation you have going on right now and now that better is coming.

Somethings to think about & journal if you are feeling spunky:

  • Go tell someone you just gave your life to Christ or comment it her and I will reach out to you
  • Write down a prayer for your new house. Thanking God for already giving it to you and be specific on what you want it to have.
  • Get ready for God to move in your life. You are on training ground now. It is time for you to walk by faith.
