Verse of the Week: It is Time to Grow WITH God!

Ephesians 3:17 NLT

“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.”

For some reason the word growth and change have been on my mind for the past few weeks. I was unsure on what God was attempting to tell me. I knew this year was going to be different than most because I felt a shift in the wind. Does that even make sense?

Growth and change are inevitable when we start our walk with God. We may grow and change into someone we never thought we would be. But this type of growth is the kind that makes you strong. The kind that changes you to be everything you were meant to be and sometimes that is hard to come to terms with.

If you are like me then you might be a person who enjoys having all the info before getting started. But putting our trust in God isn’t about having all the information. It is about moving forward one step at a time without even a cent of knowledge except for God said so and that is all we need. That is growth and that is where I am landing in this season in life.

Here is what I know:

  • I genuinely have no idea what is going to happen next in life, but I am excited because God is in charge
  • Trusting is hard for me since I am such a control freak but giving up control has been the biggest blessing
  • Letting go of burdens you’ve holding onto gives you so much peace
  • Finally, being obedient takes so much weight off your shoulders

I never thought these points I would get to because I am such a perfectionist, but it is time to grow and dig these roots further into God because that is the only way that life is going to work out the way it is supposed to. Be ok with life not ending up the way we thought it was going to because I can promise you that God’s plans are better.

Do you feel like you are in a growth season of life? Do you feel like the wind is shifting? Do you feel like something has to change? I am like 99.9% sure that is God trying to get your attention. He sees you stressing, and he sees that your mental health is taking a hit. He wants you to be happy and at peace with your work. So, it is time to grow. It may be scary, and you may be a little nervous, but you will dig your roots into God and become stronger because of it. This season of growth is the moment that could change everything for you and give you everything God has ever promised you.

Get ready. It is time to grow.

Somethings to think about & journal if you are feeling spunky:

  • What has your stress level been lately?
  • Do you feel like something is changing within you?
  • Are you ready to grow with God?
