Verse of the Week: Waiting Sucks. What Are You Doing While You Wait?

Sometimes people just genuinely question what the heck you are supposed to be doing while you wait on God. The answer is pretty simple: whatever He told you to do last and to pray like no other.

Romans 12:12 NLT

“Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.”

We try to make things more difficult than they have to be. We don’t have to be doing all kinds of extravagant things while we wait on God. Everything we need to be doing is right in front of us.

Waiting on a promotion? Keep working hard at the job you have now and praying.

Waiting for your business to take off? Keep working hard on doing all the things to keep your business going and praying.

Waiting on getting a house? Keep paying down those debts and preparing yourself for that new note. Oh, and pray.

Waiting on literally anything in life? Keep moving forward the way you have been and PRAY!

Prayer can change literally everything. You don’t need your life all put together during your waiting season. Do the last thing God told you to do that’s how obedience works. It prepares you for what God has for you outside of that waiting period.

The longer you put off doing what you were told to do the longer you will be in that waiting period. You know the Israelites didn’t follow the Ten Commandments until things got too rough. But once they started following through on their end then God started following through on His promises.

It starts with believeing. It starts with having confident hope in God that He is going to do what He said He was going to do. It starts with being patient when things start to get a little rough. It starts with prayer. It will finish with God blessing you with the things He has been preparing you for.

Keep moving forward. Keep doing what God told you to do. Keep praying. The blessing is coming, you just have to get ready for it.
